Welcome to the Leventhal School of Accounting!  You are joining a long line of proud Trojans that have studied accounting at the University of Southern California.  Our graduates include many successful businesspeople. Many of our graduates have been instrumental in the development of the accounting profession and hold prominent positions in major accounting firms.  Other Leventhal graduates have used their knowledge and experiences to pursue businesses in real estate, banking, sports, and entertainment. 

The accounting profession also allows you to participate in  a career that contributes substantially to our society in many important ways.  For example, the efficient functioning of our capital markets depends in large measure on accounting information.  The functioning of our system of taxation also relies greatly on voluntary compliance and ethical conduct by tax practitioners.  Businesses are guided by decisions based in many instances on accounting information.  As you’ll see, the study of accounting provides many avenues for an exciting and meaningful career.

Our program will provide you with access to some of the very best accounting scholars and accounting professionals.  They are experts in their fields and will help you to understand the importance and intricacies of accounting in the business world.  I urge you to carefully observe the dedication of your guides over the next few days.  They are terrific individuals and care deeply about your futures.  We hope this experience will convince you that the study of accounting is an exciting area at the Leventhal School of Accounting in the Marshall School of Business.  Fight on!
